Paul Anthony Tinney, 55, a resident of Corpus Christi, Texas and a former resident of Kingsville, Texas ,passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013 in Corpus Christi. He was born June 11, 1958 in Kingsville to Patrick Edward Tinney Jr. and Maria Antonia Tamez Tinney. Mr. Tinney was a welder. Paul Anthony enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Cynthia Reyes, 52, of Kingsville, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in Corpus Christi.
She was born June 11, 1961 in Ventura, Calif.
She was formerly employed with Kleberg County as a deputy clerk.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Roy Lopez and her grandmother, Consuelo Alvarez.
Marina R. Salinas, 68, of Kingsville died July 8, 2013.
She was born Nov. 29, 1944, to Arturo and Josefa Ramirez in Hebbronville.
She worked for many years with Kingsville Independent School District food service department, where she retired and became a housewife.
She was a member of the St. Martin’s Altar Society.
Ovidio Villarreal Jr., 21, died June 26, 2013 in Florida.
He was born Oct. 6, 1991 in Corpus Christi.
Villarreal worked for Tino’s Automart for five years.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Janie Garza.
Veronica Marie Alegria, 30, a resident of Kingsville, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013 in Kingsville. She was born Nov. 21, 1982 in Kingsville to Luis P. Alegria and Maria Rocha Alegria. Veronica was a 2001 graduate of H.M. King High School. She was a member of El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church.
Melvin L. Kaufman 79, of Winthrop, Iowa died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Buchanan County Health Center Long Term Care Center, Independence, Iowa.
Born Oct. 11, 1955 to Manuel G. Elizondo and Cipriana Vasquez, Manuel Elizondo Jr. passed away on July 11, 2013. Manuel served his country in the Army as a tank driver and squad leader. He worked construction and for the past 20 years worked for Gillespie Roofing and Sheet Metal as a P.H.T.A. He met and married his best friend Cynthia of more than 30 years.
Sylvia Quiñones Sarabia, 67, a resident of Kingsville, Texas and former resident of El Monte, Calif., passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 in Kingsville. She was born March 15, 1946 in Kingsville to Telesforo G. Quiñones and Herminia Salinas Quiñones. Sylvia made her career working for the Teamsters Labor Union in California until her retirement.
Shirley Day Jones, a longtime resident of Kingsville, passed away on July 13, 2013 in Seguin, Texas. She was 77. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Chamberlain Cemetery.

Margarita Soza Lopez, 67, a resident of Bishop, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 in Kingsville.
She was born on Dec. 29, 1944 to Paz and Ysa Soza in Gonzales, Texas.
She was formerly employed with Bishop C.I.S.D. in the cafeteria department.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Maria Soza, and her brothers, Servando Soza, Macario Soza, and Juan Soza.
Jesus Villarreal Galvan, 93, of Kingsville, passed away on July 15, 2013. Jesus was born on Dec. 20, 1919 to Santiago Y. Galvan and Francisca Villarreal in Gonzales, Texas.
Miguel V. Amador, 73, a resident of Kingsville, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 in Kingsville.
He was born on Dec. 21, 1939 in Kingsville to Luis and Dolores Amador.
He was a retired civil service helicopter mechanic for the Corpus Christi Army Depot. He was also a member of St. Martin Catholic Church.
Robert Thomas “Tom” Partain, PhD., 89, of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Tyler, Texas, crossed over Friday, July 12, 2013. Dr. Partain was a member of Farragut Presbyterian Church. He was a business author and educator of national stature. He held a Doctorate of Finance from the University of Texas at Austin, where he also taught in the School of Business Administration.
Shirley Day Jones, 77, a longtime resident of Kingsville, Texas, died July 13, 2013 after a short illness in Seguin, Texas.
Petra C. Herrera, 75, of Kingsville died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at her residence.
She was born Aug. 22, 1937 to Jose Maria Calderon and Teodora Rodriguez in Falfurrias.
She worked many years as a self-employed housekeeper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Teodora Calderon; husband, Guadalupe Herrera; and brother, Santos Calderon Sr.
Carolina R. Cantu, 66, of Kingsville, died Saturday, July 13, 2013 in Corpus Christi.
She was born Feb. 8, 1947.
Cantu was a homemaker.
Survivors include two brothers, Benigno Acevedo of Riviera and Jose Acevedo of Mathis; two sisters, Francisca Garcia of Riviera and Julia Trevino of Kingsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tommie Maurine Goericke, 79, of Bishop died Thursday, July 18 at her residence.
She was born Sept. 17, 1933 in Wichita Falls to Thomas McDaniel and Ada Maurine Waggoner McDaniel. Goericke was a hairstylist in Kingsville until her retirement.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
Lucinda Cuellar Villarreal, 78, a resident of Riviera, Texas, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born Dec. 15, 1934 in Santa Rosa, Texas to Gregorio Cuellar and Luisa Perez Cuellar. She attended elementary school in Sarita, Texas and middle school in Santa Rosa.
Gloria Almaraz Rios, 75, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born July 31, 1937 in Hebbronville, Texas to Eluterio Almaraz and Herminia Gonzales Almaraz. Mrs. Rios was employed at Anthony’s then later Bealls clothing department store in Kingsville until her retirement.
Leta Mae Peters, 70, of Kingsville, died Sunday, July 7, 2013.
She was born Oct. 7, 1942 to Ernest and Addie Lee Hooks in Horry County, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Lynn W. Peters; and her parents.
